Wedding Update

Its been a while since we've posted anything. We've both been pretty busy with work and Jahzel was out of the country as well, more on that in a sec. Lets get started on the update!

Jahzel went to the Phillipines with her family for 2 weeks. Coming home with many bounties such as her Wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses! I haven't seen the wedding dress because.. well I'm not allowed to but I have seen the Bridesmaids dresses.

The 5th Bridesmaid has been picked, it will be Marie!

After booking the downstairs at the Diamond Alumni Centre for the ceremony we quickly realized it would not accomidate the amount of people that wanted to come. Also we both wanted to get married in a nicer location, even though we still wanted the reception at SFU. We managed to find a church! The Unitarian Church of Vancouver, which is surprisingly easy to get to, will be our venue for the wedding. We both liked the looks of the church and with it being Unitarian makes it easier for us as we aren't weekly church goers.

Looks like everything is starting to come together, which is pretty exciting! Aside from that we'll try and keep the blog updated but we all know how busy life can get.

Going to the Philippines.

I'm leaving for the Philippines this Saturday, I'll be gone for 2 weeks! Right now I'm collecting dress measurements of my bridesmaids. I have Corinne's and Julia's. For the 2 who haven't done it yet please email me before this Friday! I need these measurements: bust, waist, hips, shoulder to heel, waist to heel, hip to heel. Oh and your not allowed to gain/lose weight. There is a big possibility that the dresses will be bought in the Philippines.. maybe, if I can find something nice. Aside from visiting family and showing them Devin's picture :) I'm also there to print the invitations and to buy my wedding dress. Devin and I have decided that the invitation will be for the reception only. The ceremony, since the venue can only hold 100 people or so, will be private invite only and will most likely be family and very close friends only.

P.S I need to find a 5th bridesmaid, I mentioned it to Janeth, but she didn't seem very enthousiastic... I want to choose someone who would be really excited about being my bridesmaid and apart from that, Janeth is not really a close friend or someone I grew up with.. I need to think about it some more.

Devin Gets A Promotion!

Hey All,

Well this isn't exactly wedding news but it is tied into it. I got a promotion at work and am now RFT (Regular Full Time). It means I am no longer contract and get fancy things like a 10% raise, full medical for me and my future wife =P, stock things, and pleanty other fancy stuff. It really just means job security. I was a little worried about my job due to the fact I was on contract and it would end in December without any promises of re-contracting but thats no longer an issue! Its just good to know that with a little more money we can save for the wedding and still be comfortable... *eyes Xbox360 and Big TV*... haha just kidding. Anyway RFT FTW!!

Diamond Alumni Centre FTW!

We've decided on Diamond Alumni Centre for our reception. We are now looking for a place to hold the ceremony, either a garden or small chapel. We really like the Minoru chapel, and we have contacted them to arrange a visit to their church.
